Away Brief in Chrome: catching up after a break

Stepping away is easy. Coming back to a wall of unread badges is the part that costs you. The Away Brief is meant to shorten that second step.

What it does

While the extension is running, it notices notifications raised by the web apps open in your tabs, and the unread counts that appear in tab titles. When you come back, the popup shows a short recap: how long you were away and a count per app, with the most recent items first.

What it shows

• The length of your break
• One row per app, with a count
• The newest item for each, so you can spot urgent ones quickly

Privacy

The recap is stored in your browser. It isn't sent to our servers, only a limited number of recent items are kept, and you can dismiss it to clear it.

Limits worth knowing

It can only see web apps open in your tabs. Notifications from desktop programs, or from tabs you've closed, won't appear. It's a convenience recap, not a full inbox.
